The state-of-the art technologies of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR) are core to our operations. We value the medical benefits, constant clinical and technology developments as well as the cost efficiency this modern modality allows.
SRS and SABR offer highly-precise, non-surgical cancer treatment options for anywhere in the body, without sacrificing patients’ quality of life.
Though its name may conjure up images of scalpels and surgery, the CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System involves no cutting. The system is composed of a radiation delivery device mounted on a flexible robotic arm, which can reach tumors anywhere in the body.
The CyberKnife System uses sophisticated software and advanced imaging to track tumor and patient movement and adjust the beams of high-dose radiation. This ensures treatment is delivered with a high degree of accuracy, and eliminates the need to restrict patients’ movement or breathing.
The CyberKnife System’s leading-edge technology is designed to follow moving tumors with pinpoint accuracy. This unique capability results in the delivery of more accurate and higher doses of radiation to the tumor, while minimizing the exposure of healthy surrounding tissue. This limits some of the short- and long-term side effects commonly associated with conventional treatments.
Patients can complete treatment in one to five days, compared to the weeks involved in a course of conventional radiation therapy. CyberKnife patients routinely report that they have minimal side effects from their treatment, and in most cases, they can immediately return to their normal daily activities.
